When September Ends…

It’s that time of year when we bring out the hoodies, start apple picking and sipping on Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Before the summer shorts get packed up, and the boots get laced up, I just want to say how grateful I am for a busy end to the summer. You may have seen on social media that I was recently in London, ON working on the Canadian Country Music Association Awards. You may have also seen my face again this year (enjoying some #breakfastbeer bottom right)…

Or my name…

From Country Music to Hockey, I then got to work with an amazing supportive team at World Cup of Hockey Fan Village! What a great way to end the summer! I can’t wait to see what will happen next with this crisp autumn weather, as auditions are already starting to roll in. Stay tuned here, or follow me on Instagram, twitter and Facebook. Cheers, Melissa

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Who watched the Canadian Screen Awards this past weekend? I was lucky enough to be working it!

Congrats to everyone who was nominated, you are all so talented!

Now on to a busy month of more auditions! But first a fun night out at The Actor Advantage Program’s TV/Film Industry Showcase at The Hard Rock Cafe! It was such a great night filled with so much laughter my stomach ached. Congrats to all of the wonderful talent who performed!

More updates to follow soon, but first… Have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Wish Me Luck!

I’ve also submitted to “Be the Face” of First Choice Haircutters! I’ll keep you posted if I make it to the next round! Fingers crossed.

It’s been a busy few weeks of classes and auditions! I am so grateful. Every audition is a new chance to perform, work on my craft and increase my skills!

Almost Tech Week…

Robin Hood is fast approaching and Tech Week is just around the corner. Be sure to get your tickets soon as they will sell out fast! Show opens on November 12th 2015!

Apart from rehearsals, I have had an exciting few weeks filled with many auditions and opportunities! I even spent some time on set shooting a commercial this past week, and had a blast with such a talented cast and crew!

On Set

I also recently had the opportunity to check out the fall show ‘Funny Money’ at The Aldershot Players. It was an entertaining night with a very talented cast and crew.

Flashback Friday

Flashback Friday! To the time I was in that beer commercial….

It’s been a busy month for me in the acting world. With ‘The Fox on the Fairway’ closing, I have been able to go out to more auditions, thanks to my awesome agent! I also landed a paid gig which shot last week. Things are definitely starting to pick up. I will be posting soon once I have some videos to show you. For now, here is a photo of me on set!

Here is some food for thought for the long weekend…

“You pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud too. That’s a part of it. I’d be more frightened by not using whatever abilities I’d been given. I’d be more frightened by procrastination and laziness.” – Denzel Washington

Interview With Bridge The Atlantic

Happy New Year!

There will be some exciting news coming up in the next few weeks…

But first, last fall I was interviewed by the amazingly talented Marcio Novelli and Ross Barber in their Podcast ‘Bridge The Atlantic’! Check out the video here and be sure to follow them on Twitter @MarcioNovelli and @ElectricKiwi:

Here are some highlights on some of the topics we discuss…

  • Learn about my love of ketchup
  • Ross shares a (somewhat irrelevant) personal story about contact lenses
  • We talk about forgetting lines on stage and missing cues
  • Marcio and Melissa talk about learning new skills to get parts
  • “If you’ve touched something once, you can do it”
  • We talk about the importance of believing in yourself, keeping positive and dreaming big
  • “You’re never as good as they say and you’re never as bad as they say”
  • We talk about bad auditions and some of my worst experiences
  • Marcio + Ross = Moss

Enjoy, and let me know what you think!
